Until one terrible accident changes everything for him

Revived is book 2 in the Revved series, but can be read as a standalone. In Revved, we meet Brazilian Formula One driver, Leandro Silva. Leandro is slick, he’s talented, and he’s on the top of his game. Until one terrible accident changes everything for him. He’s healing physically, but his mind isn’t in the right place. He’s having trouble coping with his near death experience. He’s having trouble coping with the fact that he’s not a racer anymore, and he can’t be again. Not until he gets himself together.
Here enters India Harris. Thirty year old therapist and single mom. Dr. India Harris is just who Leandro needs to get through his issues. She has a way of talking with him and working with him that gets him to make big changes and face his feelings and what he’s going through. One big problem. Leandro starts to fall for India. India has feelings for him as well, which is not only unethical for her, but could also cost her the license she worked so hard for and her career.
India and Leandro are in a hard place. Taking a chance on love could have huge repercussions. But is it worth it? Is giving love a chance worth giving up everything else?
Leandro was a fun character to read about. I liked him in the first book, but this book he truly won me over. Seeing all the changes he made, the growth that he was able to show was wonderful. India was also a fantastic character. I understood her struggle, the way she had to put her job/career first. It wasn’t just about India. India has a son that factors in so I never faulted her for the times she pushed Leandro away. There was minimal angst in this one (compared to the first LOL) and some drama, but not over the top.
Revived is a great addition to this series. I love the way Samantha Towle tells a story. The way that humor, love, friendship and steam are all mixed together perfectly. A highly entertaining, quick read that left me smiling!

Le Swoon

Oh Leandro! Leandro Silva is the uber sexy and smutty, Brazilian F1 driver we met in Revved. He flirted with Andi, annoyed Carrick and had a horrific crash. In Revived we see the aftermath of the crash. Leandro has spent a year recuperating but he still needs help getting back on the track. This help comes in the form of therapist Dr. India Harris.
India has escaped one hell of a difficult past. She's built a life for herself, her son Jett (love the name) and her brother Kit (I did keep thinking of Kit Harington and GoT, which is not in anyway related, but never a bad thing).
I'm not usually a big fan of insta-attraction when it boils over into insta-love territory which thankfully Revived doesn't. Their story is far more complicated than that. India has more than one reason to ignore the intense attraction between them. Also, Leandro isn't exactly known for being a one woman guy, and she has a lot to loose when considering any sort of non-professional relationship with him.
I really liked both India and Leandro; they just seemed to fit. I loved India's relationship with Jett and Kit. Jett was pretty cool for a young kid and he came out with some classic one-liners that my younger cousin would be proud of. What I liked about Jett the most was how respectful he was of his Mum and Uncle.
India's back story is pretty dark and it hits you right from the epilogue, but Samantha does a great job of tackling such upsetting issues with tack and respect. I honestly wasn't expecting certain events but appreciated them within the story.
Leandro is more willing to take a risk than India but the evil part of me kinda enjoyed her giving him the run around (seriously not sure what this says about me). For a so-called player, he's particularly cute with India and Jett. I definitely had my swoon on for him on several occasions.
There's a bit of a stinger hidden within the plot and I did find myself waiting for the 'big bad' to happen. I felt like this added to the story and gave a greater understanding as to what India and Kit have been through - can we get a book about Kit please?
It's an adult book so be prepared for the sexy times and naughty language. I know some people don't like filthy language but I didn't mind it from Leandro at all! I'm never going to be able to watch an F1 race again without looking for Leandro and Carrick.

Leandro Silva, A Brazilian Formula 1 driver is still struggling a year after his racing accident. Physical wounds have healed faster than psychological ones. He is angry, bitter, lost and covering up with alcohol and women. Getting back in a car is his goal, but his anxiety is paralyzing him. He hates being out of control. His self worth has suffered and he feels powerless.
India Harris is a therapist recommended to him by Andi Ryan so Leandro is turning to her for help. She has her own demons, issues, obligations and fears. They have a spark they shouldn't and react to and like each other more than they should. It is forbidden to have feelings for a therapy patient.
As their lives become more intertwined, it becomes harder for her to justify the ethical considerations of her job and her feelings as a woman. Leandro is hard to resist and he really does not want her to. At the same time, it is important for her to continue helping Leandro progress so he can meet his deadline to get back into racing. So it is a precarious situation with complications and consequences.
These two had a rocky road due to issues with professional ethics, personal battles, public scrutiny and general relationship fears. They seemed so right, but were in completely the wrong situation to start anything. But I really loved them individually and together.
Leandro has changed so much from the cocky, competitive jerk we met in Revved. I was not sure how much I would like him based on my previous opinion, but I honestly loved him in this one. We see him in various stages in this one. In the beginning he is resentful, scared, vulnerable and hopeless. But gradually we him become more hopeful and open, we see the funny, protective, sexy, intense man in a whole new light as a swoon worthy hero.
I liked India too even when she frustrated me. But she had good reasons and legitimate arguments for trying to push him away. She was smart, sweet, caring, and patient. She had lived a hard life, but was resilient and made the best of it. Her own past had really jaded her opinions as well. She and Leandro were definitely in a difficult situation that had the potential to get messy.
I was excited to see more with Carrick and Andi Ryan (Revved). It was interesting to see the changing dynamics between them and Leandro. I adored India's son Jett and brother, Kit. They were so protective and caring. They all added support, humor and sense of family.
The backdrop of racing is always exciting. I actually enjoyed this one more than Revved. Maybe because I was already familiar with the characters, maybe because it was not as angsty, maybe because the characters were more vulnerable than volatile. I was easily sucked into it and read it in one sitting. I liked getting the dual points of view and various racing locations around the word. There was also some underlying suspense and danger as well. The themes of honesty and doing the right thing were admirable. It was a story of hope, healing, passion, finding purpose, and living life to the fullest.
I always love getting epilogues and this one gave us a bonus! I would love to get to see a book about Jett as he is older. He is so funny, smart, intuitive and could make a great hero as he matures. And I would read about the side characters Kit and Petra as well.
